This extensive re-furbishment of an existing 1960’s double storey house in Kew, Melbourne is designed with the aim to retain the original building fabric, with the addition of an extensive and contemporary interior scheme. The aim is to link the interior with the outstanding natural views, overlooking the Yarra River and Studley Park. The living area contains a double storey volume, fully glazed and designed to embrace the views, while providing a dynamic and practical space.

Henley House

This building is designed to embrace the outstanding views of the Sydney Harbour Bay. This is a harbour side residence for a contemporary family. The top floor is designed with a 'C' shaped geometric facade including four bedrooms, which float over the living areas. The private master suite is expressed architecturally by a separate rectangular volume cladded in a silver metal finish. The aim is to create a dateless building.

This is an extensive re-furbishment of an existing 1960’s double storey house in Caulfield North, Melbourne. The original building fabric was retained and an extensive interior scheme was developed to provide a stylish interior. The project included the refurbishment of four bedrooms, laundry and kitchen area.

North Carlton

    The design involves an alteration to an existing Victorian house in Carlton. The house is situated in a significant heritage overlay; the scope of project included a complete refurbishment of an existing two storey Victorian House, with the inclusion of a new lower and upper level extension.   Ground floor walls at the rear were removed in order to bring light and ventilation to the house, resulting in a seamless open plan living- dining volume.   Amongst numerous restorations, other work to the house involved new bathrooms, kitchen, laundry and the total refurbishment of the upper level.   The extension at the rear of the dwelling is designed to integrate the ground floor   with the existing brick Victorian house. The composition composed of steel, frameless glass and horizontal lines creates a simple yet stylish outcome.

A re-furbishment of an existing 1960 single storey house located in Burwood, Melbourne. Most of the original building fabric was retained and an extensive interior scheme was developed to create a refined yet welcoming environment. The living space is designed to connect to the kitchen area, to create a more spacious floor plan.   Attention to detail, high quality finishes and custom-made joinery are adopted to ensure this outcome.

The design of the building consists of two separate volumes integrated by a feature stone wall. The cantilevering top floor is suspended over the living space situated on the ground floor and finished in a rusted metal cladding. The street elevation also provides a suspended facade cladded in natural timber with timber batten fins. The building form is split into separate and distinct volumes of complimentary materials to create an interesting composition at street level.

This extension is for a beach house in Lorne, it includes a total refurbishment of the existing house, planned to accommodate three families. The aim of this project is to amalgamate the existing building with the new extension, in a cohesive way and yet to provide the appearance of one building.
A series of cantilevering envelopes are interlocked together to follow the steeping landscape in order to accommodate and embrace the ocean views.

This project is a small extension at the rear and an internal refurbishment of a new kitchen, bathroom and dining area. The client brief also included to improve the visual connection with the house and the back garden; provide a multipurpose room- studio/bedroom; and to create a sense of space with a contemporary feel. A glazed facade, fully height folding doors, attention to detail, use of colour and use of sophisticated finishes such as timber veneers, mosaic tiles and marble are some of the key elements used in this renovation. There are simple lines, hiding and integrating the storage space and the introduction of a white floor make this 100 year old Edwardian house look spacious, welcoming and European.

This single storey contemporary extension to an existing double storey warehouse aims to provide an inspiring and stimulating working environment for a well known Melbourne artist. it provides also a flexible residential component with an informal loft feel. The simple form of the upper level, clad in metal Zinc, is interrupted by a horizontal slot window that frames a stunning city view. A structure is designed for a landscape garden to grow vertically so that it softens the harshness of the surrounding industrial area. Splashes of colour are introduced at the entry level and on the facade to create an element of surprise.

This double storey extension, situated in a significant heritage overlay, includes a garage and a study/art studio plus the refurbishment of an attic space in the original Edwardian house. The design of the form evolved in response to the sensitive streetscape conditions, the intention was to integrate a contemporary house into an existing environment. The rusted tones of the metal cladding, reference a palette of materials found throughout the neighbourhood.

Bacchus Marsh

Bacchus Marsh House

Monoglian house is a rural residence for a contemporary family, with outstanding views facing the natural bushlands of Bacchus Marsh. A punched, curved stonewall, acts as the main facade of the house and provides shelter to the living areas and the four bedrooms. The raking rooflines of the living spaces capture the northern sun and provide higher volume space.
